At Final Journey Travel Co., we understand that making travel arrangements following the loss of someone you love can feel overwhelming. ​Because our services are unique, we want to be clear about what we do, how we can help, and where our responsibilities begin and end.

What is Final Journey Travel Co.?
Final Journey Travel Co. is a specialized travel planning and coordination company dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate travel associated with loss, remembrance, and end-of-life wishes.​ We assist with urgent bereavement travel, funeral and memorial gatherings, journeys to a loved one's final resting place, travel with cremated remains, burial at sea arrangements, and planning your own final journey.

Our role is to simplify the travel logistics, offer guidance, and provide a compassionate point of contact throughout the planning process.

Are you a funeral home or funeral service provider?
No. Final Journey Travel Co. is not a funeral home, crematory, or funeral director.
​
We do not provide funeral services, perform cremations, prepare remains, or manage burial arrangements. Instead, we work alongside families, funeral homes, and other professionals to coordinate the travel-related aspects of these important events.

Do you transport deceased individuals or arrange international body repatriation?
No. We do not transport human remains in the form of a body, arrange body transportation, or serve as a repatriation provider. Transportation of a deceased person, particularly across international borders, requires specialized funeral service providers and appropriate documentation.

If your needs involve transporting a body, we recommend contacting a licensed funeral home or professional repatriation service. We can, however, assist with travel arrangements for family members accompanying or traveling to meet their loved one.

Can you help me travel with cremated remains?
Yes. This is one of our specialized services.
​
We help individuals and families plan domestic and international journeys involving cremated remains, including transportation planning, airline policy research, documentation guidance, and destination-specific travel considerations.
​
While we can help you understand requirements and coordinate your personal travel, we do not independently take possession of, ship, or transport cremated remains on your behalf.

Our goal is to help you feel informed, prepared, and supported throughout the journey.
​
Do you organize funerals, memorial services, or burial at sea ceremonies?
We coordinate travel associated with these events, but we are not an event officiant, funeral director, or burial service provider.
​
For memorials and funerals, we can assist with guest transportation, accommodations, group travel arrangements, dining reservations, and other related logistics.
​
For burial at sea journeys, we research and coordinate appropriate cruise experiences, private vessel charters, accommodations, and transportation, working with qualified providers responsible for conducting the ceremony and ensuring applicable requirements are met.​
Is Final Journey only for people who have recently experienced a loss?
Not at all. Memorial and remembrance journeys can take place months or years after a loss and still carry a tremendous amount of meaning for loved ones. We have found that additional time between the initial loss and the journey can also be helpful in many ways.
Although we specialize in bereavement and memorial travel, we also work with individuals who wish to plan their own final journey in advance. This may include identifying a meaningful final resting place, documenting travel preferences, exploring burial at sea options, or preparing logistical arrangements that loved ones can reference in the future. We believe thoughtful planning can be a meaningful gift to the people who may one day be responsible for carrying out those wishes.
Do you provide grief counseling or emotional support services?
We approach every client interaction with compassion, patience, and understanding. However, we are not licensed grief counselors or mental health professionals. Our support focuses on helping you navigate practical travel decisions with care and sensitivity.
We recognize that sometimes having another person help organize the details, answer questions, and guide the next steps can make a difficult experience feel more manageable.

Are you an emergency travel service?
We assist with time-sensitive travel following a death or other loss-related circumstances and prioritize urgent requests whenever possible. However, we are not a 24-hour emergency response organization, and immediate availability or specific travel arrangements cannot be guaranteed.
​
Our standard business hours are Monday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Additional assistance may be available outside normal hours for established clients during travel and urgent situations.

Do you replace a traditional travel agency?
Final Journey Travel Co. is a specialized travel planning service, rather than a general-purpose vacation booking agency.
While we offer many of the same travel coordination capabilities as a traditional travel advisor, and all of our advisors are licensed agents, our focus is on journeys connected to loss, remembrance, and final wishes.
We bring additional attention to sensitive circumstances, complex logistics, and the unique needs of individuals and families traveling during difficult times, while still being able to provide the additional benefits and industry knowledge of traditional agencies.

Do you charge for your services?
Yes. We charge professional planning and coordination fees based on the type and complexity of travel assistance needed.
For non-urgent travel, your initial consultation and journey overview are provided complimentary. Should you choose to use our planning services and for urgent travel, our coordination fees begin at $250 USD and are based on the overall scope of your journey. These fees are separate from airfare, accommodations, transportation, and other travel-related expenses.
We explain any applicable planning fees before you commit to our services so you can make an informed decision without pressure or unexpected obligations.

Can you help plan a journey to a final resting place, even if we don't have a destination selected?
Absolutely. Some families have a specific location in mind, while others are still exploring meaningful possibilities.
We can help research destinations, travel options, accommodations, and experiences that reflect your loved one's wishes, heritage, or personal connections. You do not need to have every detail figured out before contacting us. Your initial consultation is complimentary.

We are travel planners, logistical coordinators, and compassionate guides - not funeral directors, transport providers, or grief counselors. Our purpose is not to take over the deeply personal decisions surrounding loss, but to help make the practical journey that accompanies those decisions easier to navigate.
We believe that during life's most difficult moments, families deserve more than a booking platform or a list of instructions. They deserve an opportunity to speak with someone who will listen, understand their circumstances, and help coordinate the details with discretion and care.

We understand that meaningful journeys, and the circumstances surrounding them, do not always follow a predictable schedule. For our established clients who are actively traveling, as well as those facing urgent or time-sensitive travel needs, additional support may be available outside of our standard hours, as circumstances require.​

Our Journey - Why We Are Here
Final Journey Travel Co. was born from having traveled a similar path to what you or your loved one might be facing as well.
​
When my brother passed away with no warning, we were suddenly faced with impossible decisions - at the very same time that overwhelming grief arrived. We were not prepared for journey ahead, but we knew we had no choice but to put one foot in front of the other and find a way to honor him, as well as take care of the confusing and complex arrangements that come with the end of a life. And although I had spent much of my career in travel as a flight attendant and travel agent, nothing prepared me for the enormous undertaking of navigating even simple logistics during this time.
In those darkest moments, we experienced extraordinary kindness.
Airline representatives, hotel staff, funeral professionals, and compassionate friends of my brother helped guide us through difficult decisions with patience, grace, and unfailing kindness. Their willingness to carry a small part of our burden is something I will never forget.
After returning home and slowly adjusting to a life that had forever changed, one thought continued to stay with me: if someone else could be spared even a fraction of the stress we experienced, then perhaps something meaningful could grow from our loss.
That is why Final Journey Travel Co. exists.
Our role is not simply to book travel. It is to serve as a compassionate, experienced guide during one of life's most difficult chapters. We understand that this is not your typical trip, and the care that is required is vastly different.
We help handle the details that can feel impossible to manage, while you focus on what matters most: honoring your loved one, supporting your family, and taking the next step forward.
